November is National Novel Writing Month #NaNoWriMo. They explain it best: National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1st participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59pm on November 30th (my birthday…just saying’). Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.
When I saw it advertised on Facebook I figured what the hell. I went to their site and completed a profile. Next, I was challenged to give my novel a title. Easy…Starting Over was already outlined, my inspirational music and pictures of the characters for additional motivation were also ready to go! I then indicated a home region and began earning badges. It felt like I was a Girl Scout again. HaHa! Yeah, I know…me a Girl Scout. I write naughty words and tons of sex. I see the humor. It is the 11th day of #NaNoWriMo and I am about 41,000 words in and I have earned 18 badges. The goal is to make 50,000 words by 11/30/15. Easy Peasy :) Stay tuned today for a few excerpts from my latest book and head over to www.nanowrimo.org to check out the contest and be part of the fun!
